The history of the Ilzer Brewery started in the early 90' s when we started with the import of the reputable Bavarian beer brand Innstadt. After a while the construction of the brewery started in Monor - a Hungarian town 35 km south from Budapest - and Innstadt was launched as a licensed product on the Hungarian market. The company started its expansion and introduced its own brand Ilzer on the marketplace, first as a pils type beer, later as the first wheat beer produced in Hungary.

Today Ilzer has an annual brewing capacity of 200 000 hectolitres. Our leading brand is Ilzer, filled in the clip-top bottle, representing 5 beer types. Ilzer Supeior is a high-quality premium pils, whereas we produce the strained, unstrained and dark wheat beers and an alcohol free beer. Further brands are the Innstadt Export Hell, the Alt Bayersicher Dunkel dark beer and the special kosher beer, Shalom. We are the second European producer having the permission for the latter product. Furthermore we have a rye beer named Roggen and Diet, with low calorie and sugar content. We have to stress that Ilzer is the only Hungarian producer brewing all of its products according to the Bavarian Purity Law (annno 1516).

Besides the brewing activity Ilzer started off a distillery and today Ecker has its production at the same place as Ilzer. Ecker is the producer of special fruit distillates, a range of Hungarain palinka, distilled purely from fruits, like pear, plum or melon and we have special vodkas, like the Original Blue Vodka, the premium Esterházy family and the Isaac kosher family including palinkas, a brandy and a vodka. Ecker has the Hungarian right of bottling the Radeberger Bitter, a famous German herb-liqueur and we are the importer of Kleiner Feigling and Dooley' s Toffee Liqueur.
A palinka museum belongs to the Ecker Distillery, 100 km away to the south from Budapest.
